Here are some comments from people who have read Selling Homes 1-2-3 and/or Real Estate Sales from Hell. Because names can be traced years afterwards on the Internet, we've omitted the last names. Do you have a comment? Please feel free to send Bob an e-mail
"I just finished reading the Finding Killer Real Estate book in one night. Couldn't put it down.Great information and stories. Cute and smart. I loved it." R.S

"Real Estate Sales from Hell makes a great little gift for somebody who works in real estate - like a mortgage broker, escrow officer, real estate agent or even someone who has just purchased a home. Mr. Boog has a knack for writing in a way that makes things funny. (Did I say that right?) Plus some of his stories have great info that I never even knew existed, and I've been an agent for three years. For thirteen bucks it's definitely worth it." Karen A. Baltimore, MD.
"For many years my mother worked in real estate and was fond of telling her "stories from hell." So when I found your title on Amazon, I figured, with a title like that, I can't resist. I want you to know that I finished your book in about an hour and a half. I couldn't put it down and I even got a tear in my eye at one point. I sent the copy to my sister and she liked it too. Too bad mother isn't around. She would have loved this book!" Amy C. Long Beach, CA.

"Thank you so much for
writing your
book!! I just decided less than a month ago to go into Real Estate
and I decided to do some research first to see if it really is
a fit for me. I went to Amazon.com and looked at all the Real
estate books available, and after reading the reviews, chose yours
and one other. Well, I am really glad I read yours first--I couldn't
put it
down! I brought it with me everywhere and read it with such enthusiasm,
highlighting points to remember, and laughing out loud!
Thank you so much! I now know that this is what I want to do next and I feel confident that I am the right personality for it! (oh, and the second book I chose is so dry I keep reading the same paragraph over and over.) I start school in a couple of weeks and I look forward to a long and successful and INTERESTING career!

"Congratulations Mr. Boog on twelve thousand books sold of Selling Homes 1-2-3." Steven B. Chicago IL
"I saw Mr. Boog at the Valencia Hilton on March 9, 2002.
I read his book and loved it. I told my mom back in Pennsylvania
who has been a real estate broker for over 30 years that she should
read this book and explained to her that Mr. Boog had said that
he was studying to be a televsion writer in college and that he
applied the things about television audiences to real estate ("single
birds, All American birds, yuppie birds, etc.) and that these
TV ideas seemed to work in real estate. Anyway, she called me
last night to say it was the best new book on real estate she's
read in many years. Now that's saying something!" Marcy R.
Seattle, WA.
"Selling Homes 1-2-3 is great little reference tool that new and part-time agents should keep handy. Bob has boiled years of experience down to easy-to-follow instructions for developing a successful career." Master Sales Trainer, Tom Hopkins, author of How to Master the Art of Selling.
"I don't think anybody has said this, but two amazing things I've noticed about Bob Boog is: he is very calm and he seems to understand what you're saying without having to repeat it fifty-five times. Not like some real estate agents who try to push everything down your throat and you don't understand half of it. Also, our cat used to jump up into Bob's lap whenever he would come to our house and our cat hates strangers. Bob would just smile and stroked our cat, calm as can be!" M.Crews, Canyon Country, CA.
"Recently (June 9, 2001) I attended a seminar for real estate investors where Mr. Boog give a speech about lease options. His talk was informative and it was funny. I got an autographed copy of his book and read it with interest the same night. I just wanted to say that I really liked this book, and that his sense of humor really shows through in this book. Also, I was happy to see that there were stories in the book of people of color. You relate to everyone which makes you a great story teller. Now I am looking forward to getting my real estate license. P.Gibson Atlanta, GA.
"I read your book and liked it. What I liked about it was its heart. I actually had tears in my eyes and then a few pages later I found myself laughing! You certainly have a gift for storytelling. I'm looking forward to reading your next book." P. Evans, Chicago, IL
"Funny, informative and yet inspirational. I liked it and I'm not even involved in selling real estate." R.Q. Los Angeles, CA.
"The best and funniest book on selling homes I've read in a long time. I might get back into selling after reading this book." B.H. Canyon Country, CA.
"As a realtor with over ten years worth of home-selling experience, I picked up this book with a rather skeptical eye figuring that if I learned one new idea that it would be worth the price of the book. I finished reading it in one night as it is very easy to read and humorous as well. It's been two weeks now, and I've passed this book around to three of my friends (all of whom have been selling real estate for more than 8 years) and they all got a big kick out of it as well. We all agree, you don't have to sell real estate part-time to learn something from this book.Even an "old-timer" like me enjoyed it." M. Powell, Evansville, TN.
From Amazon.com (Regarding the book, The Eight New Rules of Real Estate)..."I ask the enthusiastic new agent: Is there any hope for YOUR future in this career--especially if you are just starting out now? ... I recommend Bob Boog's book (Selling Homes 1-2-3) for the livelier optimistic types--the new talent that Mr. Tuccillo says is not coming in anymore. ...Well, certainly not if they read his book first!!"
"Up-to-date techniques and laugh-out-loud humor make Selling Homes 1-2-3 a winner." J.F. Woodland Hills, CA.
"We added Selling Homes 1-2-3 to the collection of the Los Angeles County Library. Call number 333.33. Description: 192p.; ill; 22 cm Notes: Includes bibliographical references (p.183-184) and an index. It is available through Baker & Taylor, Quality and Brodart." M.H. Los Angeles, CA.
"I wanted to let you know that I saw you speak in person at the Hilton in Valencia in July and would recommend to anyone who is even remotely interested in selling real estate to try to see you in person. If not, read Bob's book. It's great because of the funny stories. At the Hilton, you spoke about how to maintain your FICO score and do a lease option. But your sense of humor and the way you told those "folksy" stories is hilarious. I'd like to know when you're giving your next talk. You should consider making tapes." Chuck M.
"Forty of us at attended your Lease Option talk in Pasadena and 25 of us purchased your book that day. Since then, the other fifteen people who were too cheap to buy a copy, borrowed it from one of the other members. We all loved your funny speech and agree that your book is great." P. Behar, Kansas
"Bob, Your book is a smash hit! My husband read it after me and ordered four copies for his friends." E. Baker, San Luis Obisbo, CA.
"Visit the author interview for Selling Homes 1-2-3 at this Web site: Author Interviews. Bob's book is there and it features some of his irreverent humor." J.Douglas Sinclair, publisher
------------------------------Comments from Buyers and Sellers------------------------------------------
"Don't let his nice guy demeanor fool you. Bob is a very talented real estate broker with an aptitude for solving complex problems and helping other people get what they want. He sold our home in less than one month during a time when the market was slow and then negotiated back and forth with the bank to keep the deal alive. His work allowed us to pay the bank less than what we owed. Now there are not many real estate agents that I trust, much less recommend, but Bob Boog is an agent who will keep you informed, gets things done and generally seems to enjoy people and selling homes." K. Schlau

"I found Bob's name in a real estate magazine and called him. My wife and I met with him at his office. He was pleasant and seemed younger than I thought. He showed us four houses and we kept coming back to the same one, and so we ended up buying it. After escrow had closed, somebody from work was telling me about this great agent that had helped him find their first house and when he handed me his card I started to laugh. The name on the card was Bob Boog." R. Artimone

Los Angeles, CA - Have you ever thought about selling real estate part-time? Are you already in the business and want to improve your sales skills? Or are you in the market for a new home or condo and would like to understand real estate from the broker's point of view? If you've answered "yes" to any of these questions, an informative and humorous new book on selling homes is just what you need. The title, Selling Homes 1-2-3: Insider Advice on Becoming a Surprising Better Part-time or Full-time Real Estate Agent is filled with effective strategies and sales techniques from Bob Boog, a successful real estate broker with over 22 years of experience.
Selling Homes 1-2-3 attempts to level the playing field for agents by filling in a gap of information that Boog has noticed exists in this field. "I want agents to realize that selling homes isn't just about making the most money or selling the most homes," says Boog. "I've written about both my successes and failures in order to explain how to work with clients. How to gain their trust. Readers may learn as much or more from my failures as my successes."
Readers report that the stories in Selling Homes 1-2-3 are as rich as the sales ideas. "I purposely tried to be different," says Boog. "For example, some people were surprised that there isn't a chapter on goal setting. Or on creating a business plan. Or on time management. Why? Because there are already excellent books written on those subjects."
Instead you will be treated to an irreverent sense of humor that brings Boog’s interesting ideas to life. These include:
• The reasons why working with buyers instead of sellers may lead to more sales;
• Tips on sorting through potential purchasers to find the ones who will qualify for the loan;
• A system for reading buyers and understanding what home and neighborhood they truly want;
• Ways to gain your client's trust;
• The 7 "deadly sins" (mistakes) agents make;
• Simple but effective closing strategies.
Combining his insights with embarrassing moments, humorous anecdotes, and hands-on career experience, Boog has created a sales manual that informs, inspires and entertains. Even a person just remotely interested in real estate can benefit from reading Selling Homes 1-2-3. "Though my book won't make an agent a million dollars overnight, it will expose them to secrets that real estate agents use in relating to clients that bring surprising results."
In the competitive field of real estate, agents need to add new and fresh strategies to their approach to connecting with clients. Selling Homes 1-2-3 delivers the goods while making you laugh in the process. "Imagination and creativity can solve your sales challenges," says Boog. "We all have days when nothing seems to go right. The bottom line is that in order to sell more, you need to become a better agent. In this book, I share how I learned to survive and succeed in this business over the past 22 years."

--------------------------------------Article from the Newhall Signal------------------------------------------
Published last December by THS International, a Santa Clarita-based publishing company, the text is based on Boog's first-hand knowledge of the real estate industry.
"This is my first book and I'm not expecting to set the publishing world on fire," said Boog. "I wanted to write a fun-to-read book filled with stories about things I've learned while in real estate."
According to Boog, the instructional text includes a wealth of information about the real estate industry based on hands-on career experiences. Designed to appeal to professionals as well as "people curious about real estate," Boog said the book includes personal accounts of his dealings in the world of real estate.
"I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I've been able to sell homes for the last 20 years," he said. "Perhaps somebody might be able to learn something from my experience as well as from my goofy mistakes."
A resident of the Santa Clarita Valley since 1967, Boog attended area schools while growing up, including Peachland Elementary, Placerita Jr. High and William S. Hart High. A graduate of UCLA, Boog is the owner of Bob Boog Realty in Newhall.
In addition to running his own business, selling real estate and being a newly published author, Boog said he always finds the time to play basketball and help his two sons with school and Cub Scout activities.
"I feel a little more satisfied with my life because I do more than just sell real estate," Boog said about his latest venture. "(But) I'm not abandoning real estate for a career in writing books."
Boog will be autographing copies of his new book at Barnes
& Noble Booksellers in Valencia at 7 p.m. Saturday, March
13. More information is available online at www.sellinghomes1-2-3.com.
